My display case for URTAs 2015

In the fall of 2014 I signed up to participate in the URTA interviews in Chicago that would take place January 30, 2015.

I knew I needed a display of some kind and I knew that I wanted to be able to have a video loop/slide show type thing running, while having the capacity to display drawings and process pictures.   As it happened, I had an old pc monitor laying around. So I took it apart and started planning the case that would be needed to hold it.

   This is the result.

A pile of raw materials

I used birch veneer plywood and poplar boards for the outer edge. The rest is regular construction grade plywood and 2x4.

I needed to plane the boards down to a true 1/2 inch. Sooooo much sawdust.

Just making sure I'm at least in the ballpark. It was pretty close to dead on.
